You have defense missoins flying at ground level?!? That's not right. No defense mission should be defaulting that low. Email me your dcg.ini, class.dcg, and a mission file where this happens.
bullet p.jakub88 on Sunday 28 February 2010 - 01:36:33
Even the trees has impact of this. But it not happens in ground attack missions only when flying a circles on defence missions. The waypoints altitude in this case is calculated this way that the planes should fly just above the tree lines. Every time this inflict crashes ,sometimes even buildings -churches i.e....

I dont understand this so i left the altitude as it was at the biginning in dcg.
bullet Lowengrin on Saturday 27 February 2010 - 12:05:04
If they are ground attack, the default is 300m (if I remember correctly). Assuming there are hills (or mountains), this means they could be set below the height of the terrain. That's the problem, I think.
bullet p.jakub88 on Saturday 27 February 2010 - 10:16:43
Thanks for reply Paul.
Yes i understand but why it is set on default so low altitude?
Some waypoints are 100 metres above the ground and some even 50
bullet Lowengrin on Saturday 27 February 2010 - 10:08:11
The AI goes into "auto-pilot" mode when not engaged in fighting and does not react fast enough to changes in ground elevation. It's a bug in the game and has been for a long time.

Bomber squadrons should form up if there are more than one schwarm in a flight. Fighters won't - again, that's the way the game is programmed.

Hello everyone ,

Anyone knows why setting the default transit altitude for planes made them crash to the ground?

It is embarassing while flying
Patrol mission and one of your flight crash on the ground after passed few waypoints

Some missions work well but in the others planes behaves stupid and fly into the ground , no enemies nearby

Second question : Why the half of the flight fly behind you about few kilometers - the often never saw combat ..
bullet Lowengrin on Tuesday 23 February 2010 - 22:03:54
Any map can be used in DCG, but only if the map has the DCG data files to go with it. DCG does not come with any DCG MOD map data files, however. If you want to find which MOD maps have been done by other campaign designers, visit the forum and see what's available.

I am new here and have a question regarding running the KTO map in DCG.. Is it Possible? Thx
on this
bullet Lowengrin on Thursday 18 February 2010 - 17:31:42
DCG can support 3rd party maps but someone has to actually create the files for them. The anomalies for tracking have been fixed and are being tested. Once I get confirmation, I'll post a new build.
bullet tomaz99 on Thursday 18 February 2010 - 14:36:50
Correction: I meant "The Slot " map.
bullet tomaz99 on Thursday 18 February 2010 - 14:22:49
Forgot to ask. Will DCG generate missions for 3rd party maps (i.e. The Solomons)?
bullet tomaz99 on Thursday 18 February 2010 - 14:20:58
Thanks for the info.
Any progress on the anomalies with online tracking?
bullet Lowengrin on Sunday 14 February 2010 - 14:58:38
Name Side (0 = Neutral / 1 = Allied / 2 = Axis) Allied=Troops Axis=Troops.
bullet tomaz99 on Sunday 14 February 2010 - 12:53:46
Thanks. What do the numbers in the territory.dcg file indicate? I see Tulagi 1 allied=1000 axis=0. What does that mean?
bullet Lowengrin on Sunday 14 February 2010 - 12:11:33
The tracking has been reported elsewhere however I still haven't isolated why it is happening.

If it's changing to Tarawa, then it's because DCG thinks the Japanese key location or supply zone has been captured by the US. Check the territory.dcg file and make sure the Japanese locations are showing "2" and the Allied "1" properly.
bullet tomaz99 on Sunday 14 February 2010 - 09:44:53
OK, I sorted out the "adding columns" issue, LOL. Now, however, I have another problem. I'm trying to tweak the frontline in the Guadalcanal map by making Tulagi a key axis loc and Henderson the allied location. For some reason it changes the map to Tarawa when I try to generate a mission. Very annoying. Any advice?
bullet tomaz99 on Sunday 14 February 2010 - 09:00:21
I'm trying add some ships in the Savo Sea in Guadalcanal map but keep getting "access violation" error messages from DCG.
bullet tomaz99 on Sunday 14 February 2010 - 07:02:51
Our group is having problems with the Track On-line players aspect. The briefing summary prior to any coop mission usually has the facts wrong and the pilots mixed up in relation to their previous mission scores.
bullet Lowengrin on Wednesday 03 February 2010 - 17:21:47
Yes, that is correct. Also in the maps.dcg file, you must specify which side the Axis start on, the "MapAxis" variable.
bullet Alex840 on Wednesday 03 February 2010 - 11:09:18
Hello. I'm starting making a Libya 43 campaign and i have a question about road routes. It's my impression or all roads must be from the axis to allied side? eg. if axis occupy the north half of the map in a campaign start the routes must be north to south?
bullet Lowengrin on Saturday 23 January 2010 - 17:07:54
Yes, it's just ships.
bullet Treetop64 on Saturday 23 January 2010 - 13:55:03
Sorry...

...just figured out that this meant transport ships, and not aircraft, right?
bullet Treetop64 on Saturday 23 January 2010 - 13:52:58
...though I am wondering:

Does the "...Increased the likelihood of a transport unloading a tank/truck column at a friendly location." mean that Ju-52s will be dropping off PzIIIs and PzIVs, or will this feature be properly tuned for the appropriate transport aircraft that can actually carry trucks and tanks?
bullet Treetop64 on Saturday 23 January 2010 - 13:49:15

Little hickup on the posting of 3.44. Apologies to anyone who tried downloading immediately after the announcement to find there was no link.
bullet EvilJoven on Thursday 14 January 2010 - 06:35:24
Win7 wont allow users, even admin, to modify stuff in Program Files by default. Instead, install IL2/DCG to a different folder. Safer that way.
bullet Lowengrin on Thursday 07 January 2010 - 18:09:20
Interesting. I'll have to remember that one in future.
bullet Treetop64 on Wednesday 06 January 2010 - 22:10:10
Paul,

Figured out the problem I was experiencing with running DCG with 1946 on Win7. Simply had to right-click on 1946's root folder and select "Properties", then the "Security" tab. From there I just had to click the <Edit> button to change permissions. That was it! v3.43 is running fine now.

Thanks again for your prompt replies.
