You don't still have that eventlog.lst, do you? Errors like that I would like to see so I can stop them.
bullet jirkaf on Tuesday 28 September 2004 - 12:10:55
Lowengrin many thanks. My problem was in eventlog.lst file.
Now it is working. BY THE WAY THE POLISH CAMPAIGN ENHANCEMENT IS REALLY GREAT. GOOD JOB.
bullet Lowengrin on Tuesday 28 September 2004 - 11:23:55
The "" is not an integer error could be from a number of things. A corrupt pilot.dcg is one possibility. Check to see if there is data in it.
bullet Lowengrin on Tuesday 28 September 2004 - 11:22:37
Yes, there is an issue with the log when you reinstall and it's best to delete it. Good point.
bullet jirkaf on Tuesday 28 September 2004 - 00:56:21
And again from jirkaf. Your simple guide is working. But after upgrade is also necessary to delete eventlog.lst file in FB directory.
bullet jirkaf on Tuesday 28 September 2004 - 00:22:31
Thanks for your response. I did it. But Now whan I push GENERATE button I obtain warning window with text (" is not a valid integer value). What now ?
bullet Lowengrin on Monday 27 September 2004 - 20:31:53
How to upgrade it is very simple. Just unzip the new files over the old ones and then run DCG and set up your preferences. To uninstall completely...I've posted something over at the forum but I should probably post something here (on both subjects).
bullet jirkaf on Sunday 26 September 2004 - 23:50:58
I would be good idea to create NEW RELEVANT to 2.72 DCG guide how to UNINSTALL and UPGRADE it. Without requirement to reinstall IL-2 and without losing running campaigns. It is impossible to collect this infos from DCG forum.
bullet Lowengrin on Sunday 26 September 2004 - 22:22:06
FBDaemon is not required. It's only if you want to run a dedicated dogfight server with DCG. If you're interested, it's here: http://www.greatergreen.com/il2/fbd2/fbd2.htm

Select the link "Latest Build" under the Download section.
bullet MajorBloodnok on Wednesday 22 September 2004 - 05:31:54
Hi... I see from the release notes for DCG2.71 that FBDaemon 2.2 or above is required. Was wondering where I could get that - couldn't see a link here...cheers.

bullet PapaG39 on Monday 13 September 2004 - 21:42:04
How do I completely uninstall this dcg? I want to get rid of all the pieces.
I have it so scred up that it is a total mess on my computer
bullet Lowengrin on Saturday 04 September 2004 - 09:23:48
Yes, it still works with the original game.
bullet boldrik on Saturday 04 September 2004 - 06:27:33
Hi... Is this DCG 2.70 going to work with IL2 Sturmovik (not Forgotten Battles)?
bullet Lowengrin on Friday 03 September 2004 - 23:56:13
The main difference is DCG is more configurable. That and it has more dynamic elements.
bullet Sturmer on Friday 03 September 2004 - 06:31:22
Hi, what is the main difference between the Il2DGC and the standard box campaign (Dgen)? Do I have to download all the versions or is 2.70 enough?

Thanks,
Sturmer
bullet Rebel Yell 21 on Saturday 28 August 2004 - 12:03:31
I have no trouble seeing the poll results....
bullet Lowengrin on Wednesday 25 August 2004 - 10:02:13
Strange, it works for me. Maybe only the administrator can see it...?
bullet HerrBaron on Tuesday 24 August 2004 - 18:33:47
Paul, I think the Poll about nationalities is porked; it never gives results after submitting a vote...
bullet Lowengrin on Sunday 08 August 2004 - 22:12:36
Added the FAQ in the articles section.
bullet Lowengrin on Tuesday 27 July 2004 - 18:56:27
Alexander, see my comments on the forum.
bullet deabajo on Tuesday 27 July 2004 - 02:23:35
Recomend to read DCG how to... as far as I remember, DCG suports basically whatever nation you have in country.cfg and you have the dcg file design for, I believe the files for Romania are not done...I am on the design Czechoslovakia for long long time:)...
bullet Alexander Seil on Tuesday 27 July 2004 - 00:16:10
The problem is, how do I know that it's not because this is still a work in progress? For example, ranks don't show up at all if I attempt to set myself up to play for Romania, but then as I understand DCG doesn't even support Romania? Or does it? I know it supports Finland though, and some ranks are messed up (a string of gibberish in the middle, some zeros and slashes), plus I have \u0020 attached to my pilot's first name. This is all the Grand Campaign, by the way. If I set nationality to Hungarian, Hungarian names are displayed besides German ranks in a German squadron to which the player is also assigned. I am also not sure if it is supposed to be like that, but no matter what campaign I try to start, the squadron editor is kind of strange. No Finnish squadrons at all in the Leningrad campaigns unless I set nationality to Finnish (and then it's only 1 squadron). I'll inspect it all more thoroughly tomorrow.
bullet Lowengrin on Tuesday 27 July 2004 - 00:01:52
Once you play around with it a bit, you'll know....
bullet Alexander Seil on Monday 26 July 2004 - 23:48:34
This keeps getting even more interesting.
It suddenly started working...gave me an error when I tried to assign the game path, but I reloaded it and it was all fine. Now I'm wondering how I would know that it's fine or not, given that I'm a complete n00b as far as DCG goes?
bullet Alexander Seil on Monday 26 July 2004 - 22:59:45
Cleared history and cache, redownloaded and reinstalled...now getting the same error but with different first letters (different sets of last/first names, I presume?). The directory contains 170 files and 7 folders, is that correct?
bullet Lowengrin on Monday 26 July 2004 - 21:14:19
Interesting. It's crashing on the Italian last names. I've never seen this one before but...

"EReadError is raised then an application attempts to read data from a stream but cannot read the specified number of bytes.

An EReadError exception may also be raised if Delphi is unable to read a property while creating a form. This can occur because a component reads the form resource incorrectly, or because the resource is corrupt."

So I recommend deleting it and downloading it again. The file may have been corrupted.
bullet Alexander Seil on Monday 26 July 2004 - 18:34:47
Trying to run the program (v.2.65) on WinME gives me an error saying that DCG has caused an error in <unknown> and then an application error:
"Exception EReadError in module il2dcg.exe at 00018F8F Error reading ItLNm.Items.Strings: A call to an OS function failed" Just wondering if this can be fixed somehow?
bullet Lowengrin on Saturday 24 July 2004 - 21:55:37
Thanks for the heads up. I'll change it on my end.
bullet charlielamb2002 on Friday 23 July 2004 - 11:02:15
Hi Paul,
DCG and BOE British campaign use the same Dgen campaign,squadron subfix..GBF.
so each overwrite each other (much as US p38 campaign did).
Doubt Starshoy is going to change this. Easy to fix manualy but for the future....

Lowengrin on 03 Sep : 13:13
ghostrider, email me.

ghostrider on 03 Sep : 10:17
Is it possible to use the version on the forums which was designed for UP 2.0 on condition I wouldn't use new planes?

Lowengrin on 03 Sep : 08:03
Rumours, rumours, rumours. The latest (as yet unreleased) version of DCG has enhancements which work with MDS.

ghostrider on 03 Sep : 01:05
Hi, Paul, I've read something about new version of DCG, which would work with UP 2.01. Is there any progress?

Lowengrin on 24 Aug : 15:03
All but Med'41. However, the Russian ones follow a German/Russian path and you may find yourself fighting in 1945 for Berlin.

D-XXI on 24 Aug : 13:51
Paul,

thx, I will try that as soon as my own computer has been fixed.

As I could select the Italian career from DCG (Med'41, Tobruk'41, Typhoon '41, Rhez '42 and Kursk, I assumed that those campaigns are linked.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:16
Further to my note below, as the winner was Italy, you need to change the "Red" to "Blue" in the first line.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:15
Med'41 is actually a stand-alone campaign. It doesn't link to anything. If you want it to link to Tobruk '41, you'll need to add the following to the grandcampaign.dcg file:

[Mediterranean41 o Tobruk41] Red
Campaign=Western_Campaign
Map=SandsOfTime
StartDate=01/12/1941
Front=Tobruk_Supply_Depot
DeHome=Bengazi_Road
RuHome=El_Alamein_Road
DeBase=Gazala_Airfield
RuBase=Gambut_Airfield
Locale1=Maleme_Airfield
Locale2=Maleme
Locale3=Bengazi_Road_Depot
Locale4=Maleme_Beachhead

D-XXI on 22 Aug : 07:08
Hello Paul,

I have a problem witk the DCG Italian Career. When the first campaign (Mediterrenean) ends because the enemy has retreated, I do not progress to the next campaign (Tobruk). I only get new missions without any enemies. Do you have any ideas?

Lowengrin on 11 Aug : 17:28
You're welcome.
