Catseye,

The USAAF pilot photos, ranks and awards are in Pacific Fighters and therefore the USAAF "Real Deal" Campaign is not required.
bullet Flying H on Tuesday 23 November 2004 - 10:27:25
Ah at last the waiting is over, THX in adv, love your work aspecially as I´m no programmer myself.

bullet Catseye on Monday 22 November 2004 - 20:02:27
Will it still be required to load the USAAF campaign in order to fly US in Pacific Fighters? even ET campaigns?
bullet Dux Corvan on Saturday 20 November 2004 - 16:59:32
OK.
bullet Lowengrin on Saturday 20 November 2004 - 16:51:10
I think that only applies to DGen campaigns and has no bearing on DCG whatsoever.
bullet Dux Corvan on Saturday 20 November 2004 - 13:32:04
Have you read 3.01 patch 'readme' file? "19. In order to allow planes with arrestor hook to fly from ground bases, it is possible now to use classes file associated with your career.
(...) Syntax: Plane_code Operation_code BASE (or CARRIER)
This file allows A6M5A and A6M5B which are carrier based planes by default to fly from airfields at Palau, Iwo and Okinawa."
bullet Lowengrin on Saturday 20 November 2004 - 13:22:21
I must be missing something because there's no reason why a carrier based plane can't take off from a ground base now.
bullet Dux Corvan on Saturday 20 November 2004 - 06:59:22
Lowengrin, have you noticed the new available settings to have carrier based planes taking off from ground bases? I bet you have. So, my advice: I'd wait a little for the add-on patch in order to know all new features before releasing 3.00. And I swear I'm the most impatient guy in the world! But that could ensure 3.00 a longer life.

Hi
bullet Lowengrin on Tuesday 16 November 2004 - 23:09:40
Limiting testing is underway and it looks like all the major bugs have been crushed. So I'm aiming to have 3.00 posted in time for the weekend.
bullet Gato_Loco on Sunday 14 November 2004 - 21:28:41
I'm also looking forward to this. The DGEN campaigns are not very good. Today I flew across New Guinea with a large number of planes and the objective was to attack four trucks parked on a beach. Pretty dumb. Paul's DCG does a much better work creating interesting missions. I'm glad he is working on this!
bullet AndyHill on Friday 12 November 2004 - 16:32:37
I'm VERY much looking forward to the new version. First of all the DGen campaigns aren't nearly as much fun as DCG, but I'm also interested in seeing how Lowengrin's generator workd in teh pacific.

The campaigns are completely different from the previous ones and making them interesting to play will be a challenge. Some of those islands are so small that ground units would be in firing range almost all the time. I hope it won't take long before I get to see how your algorithms work.
bullet Flying H on Friday 12 November 2004 - 12:51:00
Great news, I´ve been using this instrument ever since the CFS 2 days long time ago. Was just waiting for this development.
Great job, man lets us flyers keep aloft , without hasseling with planning ops.

DCG can lessen some of the chances of stupid AI behaviour but not all of it so here's hoping they're a little smarter in Pacific Fighters.
bullet Invisman on Wednesday 10 November 2004 - 03:49:08
Great! Thanks for the reply Lowengrin, will download forthwith and look forward to the Pacific Fighter version. Hope the AI tendency (both friendly AND enemy) to kamikaze and ignore minor things like hills, mountains and the sea are corrected in Pacific Fighters! Or will that be something Oleg Maddox will have to address in his patch?
bullet Lowengrin on Monday 08 November 2004 - 23:59:54
The current version of DCG will work with the original IL-2 game. It will soon also work with Pacific Fighters.
bullet Invisman on Monday 08 November 2004 - 01:30:20
New to the site. I've got IL2 Sturmovik and just got Pacific Fighters. Do your DCGen run with either of my games or must I buy Forgotten Battles too?
bullet Dux Corvan on Saturday 06 November 2004 - 10:43:37
DCG is a must. With it PF/FB will be the offline experience it should be, and that's all your merit. Man, I love you. Thanks!
bullet Lowengrin on Friday 22 October 2004 - 17:15:39
Uh, that's "compatible"....
bullet Lowengrin on Friday 22 October 2004 - 17:11:48
Of course, it will be IL2SFBAEPPF combatible.
bullet AndyHill on Friday 22 October 2004 - 16:03:55
Will DCG 3.0 be IL2SFBAEPPF-combatible and not just PF? Note that Il2SFAEP also includes the Finnish map.
bullet Rebel Yell 21 on Friday 22 October 2004 - 12:14:19
Woohoo, PF DCG underway. Excellent news.
bullet Lowengrin on Friday 22 October 2004 - 11:01:06
Hey Andy, someone was kind enough to send me some of the new mission files. From them, I am able to deduce how carrier takeoffs and landings are set up. And I also can get the IDs of the new ships and some of the planes. So I have started working on IL2DCG 3.0 for "Pacific Fighters".
bullet AndyHill on Friday 22 October 2004 - 06:16:21
Ok someone send Lowengrin a copy of Pacific Fighters NOW. I don't want to wait until christmas.
bullet Lowengrin on Tuesday 19 October 2004 - 22:03:30
Okay, the downloads are back on-line. Sorry for the inconvenience.
bullet Lowengrin on Tuesday 19 October 2004 - 14:01:26
I've done some behind the scenes upgrades to the website which have messed up the downloads. Will try and fix this as soon as possible.
bullet Lowengrin on Wednesday 29 September 2004 - 20:50:52
Tolwyn,

Click the link to the forum and start a new thread. We can try and sort it out there.
bullet Tolwyn on Wednesday 29 September 2004 - 19:32:23
Polish campaign refuses to work. I can't get a campaign going flying the P11.
bullet Lowengrin on Wednesday 29 September 2004 - 17:16:26
That would be great, thanks!
bullet jirkaf on Tuesday 28 September 2004 - 23:14:58
I am sorry. I deleted it. But I may try to reproduce it for you.
Maybe it happens again.

Lowengrin on 03 Sep : 13:13
ghostrider, email me.

ghostrider on 03 Sep : 10:17
Is it possible to use the version on the forums which was designed for UP 2.0 on condition I wouldn't use new planes?

Lowengrin on 03 Sep : 08:03
Rumours, rumours, rumours. The latest (as yet unreleased) version of DCG has enhancements which work with MDS.

ghostrider on 03 Sep : 01:05
Hi, Paul, I've read something about new version of DCG, which would work with UP 2.01. Is there any progress?

Lowengrin on 24 Aug : 15:03
All but Med'41. However, the Russian ones follow a German/Russian path and you may find yourself fighting in 1945 for Berlin.

D-XXI on 24 Aug : 13:51
Paul,

thx, I will try that as soon as my own computer has been fixed.

As I could select the Italian career from DCG (Med'41, Tobruk'41, Typhoon '41, Rhez '42 and Kursk, I assumed that those campaigns are linked.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:16
Further to my note below, as the winner was Italy, you need to change the "Red" to "Blue" in the first line.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:15
Med'41 is actually a stand-alone campaign. It doesn't link to anything. If you want it to link to Tobruk '41, you'll need to add the following to the grandcampaign.dcg file:

[Mediterranean41 o Tobruk41] Red
Campaign=Western_Campaign
Map=SandsOfTime
StartDate=01/12/1941
Front=Tobruk_Supply_Depot
DeHome=Bengazi_Road
RuHome=El_Alamein_Road
DeBase=Gazala_Airfield
RuBase=Gambut_Airfield
Locale1=Maleme_Airfield
Locale2=Maleme
Locale3=Bengazi_Road_Depot
Locale4=Maleme_Beachhead

D-XXI on 22 Aug : 07:08
Hello Paul,

I have a problem witk the DCG Italian Career. When the first campaign (Mediterrenean) ends because the enemy has retreated, I do not progress to the next campaign (Tobruk). I only get new missions without any enemies. Do you have any ideas?

Lowengrin on 11 Aug : 17:28
You're welcome.
