The Battle of Gazala 1942 by PVI_Eagle email to someone | printer friendly

The battle was fought around Tobruk with the Italians launching a frontal attack on British positions on May 26th. The next day, Rommel launched his panzers in a flanking manoeuvre south of the fortified "box" at Bir Hacheim. The Battle of Gazala had begun....

This dynamic campaign is based on the desert map of "IL-2 1946" 4.08m and was adapted by PVI_Eagle to represent the Libyan scenery of Cyrenaica in 1942.

Hannut, Belguim 1940 Campaign Released email to someone | printer friendly
Belgium, 10 May 1940: Blitzkrieg! Germany attacks Belgium. Attempts to remain neutral find Belgium forces ill-prepared to counter Wehrmacht "lightning war" tactics. French Calvary Corp armor is finally allowed to cross Belgium borders, but will only commit as far as Hannut, & then only to fight a delaying battle that will allow defenses to be prepared at Gembloux. The French Armee de l'Air & the British RAF Advance Air Striking Force immediately join the battle, but experienced & well equipped Luftwaffe pilots have already secured air supremacy & are striking hard at all Belgium Aeronautique Militaire air bases.

In this campaign created by soda, fly as French, German or British.

Finland 1944 Campaign by Jurbo email to someone | printer friendly

After three years of relatively quiet trench war between the Soviet Union and Finland, the Soviet high command decided to knock Finland out of war. To achieve this, enough troops and material was reserved for conquering Finland. On June 9, 1944, the Soviet Union started a massive attack against Finland.

This package contains two campaigns for this period: one for a Finnish and one for a German pilot career. Both campaigns cover (roughly) June-July of 1944, when the Soviet Union launched its strategic offensive against Finland.

The Campaign is available in the IL2 Add-On Campaigns Download area.

Just what it means. You're dead and any other events that happened are recorded as well - so if you run DCG and "resurrect" yourself by hitting the "Generate Mission" button, you're a newbie again but the campaign is where you left it when you died.

onelifecrisis on 06 Sep : 12:39
That's from the "IL2 DCG Menu" page...

onelifecrisis on 06 Sep : 11:47
Stats Reset on Death: if check if the player dies in Career mode, his pilot statistics will be reset to zero and any other events that happened that mission will be recorded. If unchecked, the mission can be reflown without penalty as if it never happened.

Lowengrin on 06 Sep : 11:37
What bit is that?

onelifecrisis on 06 Sep : 08:52
OK, but what about the bit that says the mission results are recorded? What does that mean?

Lowengrin on 06 Sep : 08:48
It works the same in all modes. You die in the off-line campaign with "Stats Reset On Death", you're dead. Even if you refly the mission, it's too bad, your stats are already reset.

onelifecrisis on 06 Sep : 03:46
Oh, wait a minute... both my brain cells just bumped into each other... do I need to untick Primary Objectives for it to work?

onelifecrisis on 06 Sep : 03:42
Paul, I'm confused again - this time with the Stats Reset On Death option! Does this option work the same in all DCG modes? In Auto or Full Auto, will it reset all my (in-game) kills, medals, and so on? Also, IL2 refuses to allow me to "Apply" a mission in which I died... yet the documentation says DCG will record the events of the mission in which I died? I can't get my head around that... I mean when I click Refly, everything is back as it was before the mission... nothing seems to have been recorded.

Lowengrin on 04 Sep : 18:26
The first place to look for that information is in the documentation section of this website. Look for Tailspin's document which is a pretty good overview.

Then pop over to the forum to ask specific questions.

Hi Mr Lowengrin

First of all, Thank You for this site. I presume that you are the only one that knows how to add the new maps? I would really like to help out with it., if I know how to add them .
