Iasi 1944 Campaign Posted email to someone | printer friendly
In April 1944, the Russian push towards Germany stalls and the front stabilizes. Along the Dnestr to the East and the two relatively small rivers Bahlului (east of Iasi), and Reut (between Kornesti and the Dnestr) in the North, both sides dig in. On the Axis side, big defensive lines of up to 50 kilometres in depth are prepared, including the “Trajan Line”. Here some 60% of the armored ground forces available in the East are concentrated together with large parts of the Luftwaffe including the elite units Schlachtgeschwader 2 and Jagdgeschwader 52.

Meanwhile, the Red 2nd Tank Army is brought back to full strength and is ready to attack again by the end of the month. In early May, the battle of Targul-Frumos erupts and the battle for Iasi begins.

IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.45 Posted email to someone | printer friendly
Additions to Version 3.45

Increased number of custom paint scheme types to match number of plane types (was causing an "access violation error" using certain mods). Fixed kill credits. Improved patrol box patrol path creation. Fixed some flights of fighters flying at extremely low altitudes.

Note: After installing, remember to reset your basic options and, if using DGen or NGen Replacement modes, make sure these options are re-checked before running IL-2 Forgotten Battles, Pacific Fighters or 1946. Mods which have made changes to the event log may not work with IL2DCG.

IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.43 Posted email to someone | printer friendly
Additions to Version 3.43

Added new planes available in the game's 4.09 patch. Flights per squadron will now more accurately reflect the current number of aircraft a squadron has as compared to the number of planes per flight. For example, a squadron with four planes with two planes per flight will be able to fly two flights rather than one. Made crewseats.dcg campaign folder unique - DCG will use the one in the main data folder if none exist in the campaign folder. Fixed noseart to display on late-war US planes. Fixed "IAK" squadrons being treated as German. Added "Beachhead Reset" option to both the menu and the time table commands; this option allows the user (or campaign creator) to determine what units do when they advance onto a beachhead location - if this option is active, units will be removed, if unchecked, the units will not advance onto the beachead but remain at the location just before the beachhead and defend it. Improved display of newsbriefs. Tweaked replacement pilot skill levels to bring them more in line with the squadron skill level.

Note: This version of DCG should not be installed over versions older than 3.01. Please make a clean install. Campaigns started with versions of DCG numbered less than 3.01 will NOT work with this version. After installing, remember to reset your basic options and, if using DGen or NGen Replacement modes, make sure these options are re-checked before running FB/AEP/FP or FP.

IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.42 Posted email to someone | printer friendly
Additions to Version 3.42

Added ferry spawning in Dogfight campaigns. Added a ground contact distance setting so that players move the spawning distance of tanks and trucks back from zero to five waypoints (on Ground War Editor Panel). Added command "ShipsRemainSunk On/Off" to Time Table. Fixed an endless loop in the campaign generation routine when a "Jv", "RAP" or "MTAP" squadron was being used. Ships that crash will now remain sunk. Added to code prohibit more than one instance of DCG to run at a time (but it will allow DCG to run as "Dgen.exe" or "NGen.exe" and as "DCG.exe" at the same time). Added "Random" time passage setting; on this setting, time will advance either one, two or three days between missions.

Through the Ground Objects Editor Panel, users can now add new columns to the active campaign. Improved logic for the player's slot in the squadron flights. Made seaplane bases active in Dogfight Mode. Fixed the transfer from Pearl Harbor to New Guinea campaign.

Note: This version of DCG should not be installed over versions older than 3.01. Please make a clean install. Campaigns started with versions of DCG numbered less than 3.01 will NOT work with this version. Darwin 1942 Campaign Released email to someone | printer friendly
On 19 February 1942, under the protective umbrella of a carrier strike force, the Japanese struck Australia near the port of Darwin. The historical raid consisted of two strikes (one sea-based and one land-based). Though the raids caused widespread fear that Australia itself might be invaded, no invasion was launched...until now....

457 Squadron’s "Defence of Darwin 1942" DCG Campaign version 1.00 is a third party Il2DCG add-on campaign for Il2DCG Version 3.39 (or later), to be used in DGen and NGen Full Replacement-Auto mode in single and/or on-line game-play.

Required: "IL-2 1946" version 4.09bm1 "patched and AAA modded" version as well as Neil Lowe’s Darwin map. For full requirements see the "ReadMe" in the download.

Note: this third party campaign is not supported by Lowengrin.com but by No457_Stonehouse at no457.com.

Rise of Flight Beta Announced email to someone | printer friendly

It was announced on March 31, 2009, that Rise of Flight was starting closed beta testing. This testing is to be open to a total of five members of active squadrons with at least a year's history on the Web. Further details are on the Rise of Flight Blog. Finally, after years of speculation and (some) doubt, it appears the release of this game is near and that Jagdgeschwader 1 will fly again.

IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.40 Posted email to someone | printer friendly
Additions to Version 3.40

Restricted flyable squadrons chances of delayed start times in coop missions. Tweaked fighter squadron activation. Removed delay in pilot promotions/rewards in coop campaigns. Fixes bridge repair time set to "0". Fixed reset issue with maximum troop number. Added new waypoints before and after the "halfway" points. Fixed issue of some human players not transfering to the new campaign when the campaign map changed. Fixed date advancement when a campaign transfers to a new map. Fixed issue where "Jabo" squadron mission selection hung mission generation. Improved reconnaissance chances at lower density levels. Added recons.dat, squadron.dat and gunner.dat to backup and restore routines. Stop defending ground units from resetting if at a beachhead - now they will defend the beaches indefinitely. Fixed armor tracking for IL-2 1.02 campaigns. Fixed ban weapon syntax for IL2SC dogfight missions. Activated Murmansk Summer map. Fixed appearance of Normandy "English Airstrip" when no island is active. Revised and expanded the Normandy campaigns. (Do not install 3.40 if in the middle of a Normandy campaign!)

All but Med'41. However, the Russian ones follow a German/Russian path and you may find yourself fighting in 1945 for Berlin.

D-XXI on 24 Aug : 13:51
Paul,

thx, I will try that as soon as my own computer has been fixed.

As I could select the Italian career from DCG (Med'41, Tobruk'41, Typhoon '41, Rhez '42 and Kursk, I assumed that those campaigns are linked.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:16
Further to my note below, as the winner was Italy, you need to change the "Red" to "Blue" in the first line.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:15
Med'41 is actually a stand-alone campaign. It doesn't link to anything. If you want it to link to Tobruk '41, you'll need to add the following to the grandcampaign.dcg file:

[Mediterranean41 o Tobruk41] Red
Campaign=Western_Campaign
Map=SandsOfTime
StartDate=01/12/1941
Front=Tobruk_Supply_Depot
DeHome=Bengazi_Road
RuHome=El_Alamein_Road
DeBase=Gazala_Airfield
RuBase=Gambut_Airfield
Locale1=Maleme_Airfield
Locale2=Maleme
Locale3=Bengazi_Road_Depot
Locale4=Maleme_Beachhead

D-XXI on 22 Aug : 07:08
Hello Paul,

I have a problem witk the DCG Italian Career. When the first campaign (Mediterrenean) ends because the enemy has retreated, I do not progress to the next campaign (Tobruk). I only get new missions without any enemies. Do you have any ideas?

Lowengrin on 11 Aug : 17:28
You're welcome.

EP88**Nosey on 10 Aug : 22:44
Thank you for helping. And thank you for making your hard work available for the community to use.

Lowengrin on 10 Aug : 18:14
Yes, the following mission briefing screen should have the debrief of the previous mission which should at the very least state who flew the last mission.

EP88**Nosey on 09 Aug : 22:59
Is there any way to tell whether DCG is or is not finding and using an eventlog.lst file to shape the changes in the next sequential mission of a campaign?

Lowengrin on 09 Aug : 20:36
DCG uses the eventlog from IL-2 in all modes (offline, coop and dogfight) to send the mission results back to DCG. So make sure that in the IL2 conf.ini file you have the following:

eventlog=eventlog.lst
eventlogkeep=0
