IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 2.61 is Available email to someone | printer friendly
Additions to Version 2.61

Corrected Dogfight Mode scoring. Deleted old campaign files from MASTER folder. Fixed(?) "File Not Found" bug. Improved generation of Coop Campaign starting files. Added new feature to set the replacement rate of aircraft on the Campaign Settings Panel. Added ability to apply a paint scheme to a squadron through the master mission file. Added a Balaton 1944 campaign for USAAF pilot. Fixed density setting bug for replace modes. Fixed always clear weather bug. Renamed the US Western Front campaign to "USE". Old copies of DCG's campaigns should be deleted from the FB DGen folder (campaignusf, planesusf.dat and squadronsusf.dat). Note: "Battle over Europe" uses the same names as these so do not remove if these are BoE files - open the campaignusf.dat file in NotePad to see if they are identified as BoE.).

Important: versions of DCG prior to 2.61 should be deleted before installing this new one, however, back up any campaigns you have started and wish to keep.

Warning: Aces Expansion Pack Patch 2.01 and IL-2 DCG Replacement Mode email to someone | printer friendly
IL2DCG users who replace DGen and/or NGen with IL2DCG but wish to keep the most recent copies of DGen and NGen safe should be aware of the following.

When DCG replaces these files it creates a back up called DGen_bak.exe and NGen_bak.exe. It will never over-write these backup files. So before applying the AEP 2.01 patch over AEP 2.00, you should make sure you have unchecked the DGen and NGen replacement options in IL2DCG and then deleted the DGen_bak.exe and NGen_bak.exe. Doing this will ensure that your new versions of these two files are backed up by DCG properly after installing the 2.01 AEP patch.

If you have any questions about this or other DCG related things, please contact me.

Grand Mini Expanded Campaigns by Tailspin Posted email to someone | printer friendly
There are two grand campaigns available in this package: the Grand Fatherland 1944 campaign and Grand South campaign. Each of these covers at least twice as much map area vs the IL2DCG stock campaigns.

Grand South

The Grand South grand campaign takes place in Crimea in Spring 1942 as the Germans were finally pushing the Soviets out of the peninsula.

Fatherland 1944

In this fictional campaign, the invasion at Normandy was a failure. Hilter has been a puppet figure in the German Government for quite some time and the military leadership has been running the war. They have reverse a lot of Hilter’s early mistakes and have the war down to a two front war, pulling out of Africa early in the war. Spies discovered the true invasion plans and the German forces were able to repel the invasion with severe loses to Allied forces. Germany has been able to concentrate more forces on the Eastern Front war and fighting has been extremely fierce in the Kursk area. Large tank battles raged and things have come to stand still as both sides took heavy losses. There hasn’t been a decisive victory for either side. Germany has also provided Japan with enough materials to allow them to attack the east border of the Soviet Union. The US hasn’t been able to make as much progress in the Pacific as expect due to Germany’s support of Japan. US equipment and troops are now starting to filter in through Siberia to support the Soviet fighter on their western border.

Download it from the Add-On page.

ghostrider, email me.

ghostrider on 03 Sep : 10:17
Is it possible to use the version on the forums which was designed for UP 2.0 on condition I wouldn't use new planes?

Lowengrin on 03 Sep : 08:03
Rumours, rumours, rumours. The latest (as yet unreleased) version of DCG has enhancements which work with MDS.

ghostrider on 03 Sep : 01:05
Hi, Paul, I've read something about new version of DCG, which would work with UP 2.01. Is there any progress?

Lowengrin on 24 Aug : 15:03
All but Med'41. However, the Russian ones follow a German/Russian path and you may find yourself fighting in 1945 for Berlin.

D-XXI on 24 Aug : 13:51
Paul,

thx, I will try that as soon as my own computer has been fixed.

As I could select the Italian career from DCG (Med'41, Tobruk'41, Typhoon '41, Rhez '42 and Kursk, I assumed that those campaigns are linked.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:16
Further to my note below, as the winner was Italy, you need to change the "Red" to "Blue" in the first line.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:15
Med'41 is actually a stand-alone campaign. It doesn't link to anything. If you want it to link to Tobruk '41, you'll need to add the following to the grandcampaign.dcg file:

[Mediterranean41 o Tobruk41] Red
Campaign=Western_Campaign
Map=SandsOfTime
StartDate=01/12/1941
Front=Tobruk_Supply_Depot
DeHome=Bengazi_Road
RuHome=El_Alamein_Road
DeBase=Gazala_Airfield
RuBase=Gambut_Airfield
Locale1=Maleme_Airfield
Locale2=Maleme
Locale3=Bengazi_Road_Depot
Locale4=Maleme_Beachhead

D-XXI on 22 Aug : 07:08
Hello Paul,

I have a problem witk the DCG Italian Career. When the first campaign (Mediterrenean) ends because the enemy has retreated, I do not progress to the next campaign (Tobruk). I only get new missions without any enemies. Do you have any ideas?

Lowengrin on 11 Aug : 17:28
You're welcome.
