IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.35 Posted email to someone | printer friendly
Additions to Version 3.35

Added an Italy '43 campaign and a Norway '44 campaign. Integrated Finland '41 into the "Grand Campaign". Added second airfield to the "English Airbase" on the Normandy map. Corrected the timetable.dcg time passage settings. Fixed end date trigger. Created an "ostcampaign.dcg" file that replaces the "grandcampaign.dcg" file if the player is using the original IL-2 game. Added "DeployDistance" timetable command for Carrier Taskforces to set distance between ships. Added "AttackRendezvous" timetable command so units can fly to a specific x/y location on a specific day from which to launch attacks. Added "SetTaskForceSpeed" timetable command. Modified squadron set up so that only the first squadron in a group will get the highest ranking pilot available to that nation. Other squadrons in the group will be commanded by the second highest rank. Made changes in weather more dynamic and less random. Fixed stationary object bug where objects were being carried over from one campaign to the next. Fixed altitude settings at target point. German messages updated. Italian messages added compliments of Aeronautica Militare Virtuale Italiana. Revised Squadron Density effects. Stopped air starts from beginning in a dive. Increased taskforce speeds. Prohibited armour breakthroughs on the first mission of a campaign. Added the generic French squadron to the list of those that can be carrier based.

Note: This version of DCG should not be installed over versions older than 3.01. Please make a clean install. Campaigns started with versions of DCG numbered less than 3.01 will NOT work with this new version. After installing, remember to reset your basic options and, if using DGen or NGen Replacement modes, make sure these options are re-checked before running FB/AEP/FP or FP.

IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.34 Posted email to someone | printer friendly
Additions to Version 3.34

Added soda's Mareth Line (Tunisa 1943) campaign. Carrier strikes must now be preceded by reconnaissance missions - the success of which (with weather) will determine whether the following mission is a strike: successful strikes will also allow for successive strikes. Damaged planes landing within 5 kilometers of their home field will now be repaired and not lost with the exception of off-map squadrons. Off-map squadrons always lose damaged planes. Added code for bomber pilots to be awarded medals. Changed skill level descriptions on the "Squadron Editor Panel" from "Skill 0", etc., to "Rookie", "Average", "Veteran", and "Ace". Corrected on-map/off-map status of the "English_Airfield" in the Normandy campaigns. Fixed the "integer error" in the "Add Squadron" routine. Fixed ship rate of fire settings. Fixed victory condition check for single map campaigns. Corrected "SetTroop" command. Fixed bug that would create French manually-generated campaigns in the "RU" campaign folder. Added "Very Slow" (three missions/day) and "Extremely Slow (four missions/day) Time Setting options. Fixed transfer bug that happened only in "Full Auto-generation" Mode. Fixed bug that removed human player identifier when the player was viewed in the Pilot Panel.

Nomonhan 1939 (Battle of Khalkin Gol) email to someone | printer friendly

In the Summer of 1939, a border skirmish known as the "Nomonhan Incident" occured between Russia and Japanese in the disputed area of Khalkhin Gol which lay on the border between Mongolia (then an ally of the Soviet Union) and Manchukuo (the Japanese puppet state of Manchuria).

This campaign by ColHut represents, in a limited way, the fighting for Khalkin Gol. Some compromises have had to be made to the campaign as many squadrons and plane types are not available in the game.

Players may fly as Russian or Japanese. The game balance swings more and more to the Russians as time goes on, and they ultimately have the most variation in equipment.

Nomonhan 1939 is available for download here.

Panzer Armee Afrika Campaign email to someone | printer friendly

JASTAV’s Panzer Armee Afrika Campaign v2.01 is a third party add-on for Il2DCG v3.33 or greater. It is recommended for use with 4.071m/4.08m: the "patched" version of the "IL-2 1946" game.

The campaigns cover the first British offensive against the Italians in North Africa, from Sidi Barrani in 1940 through to Sollum in 1941 and includes: Beda Fomm, Aghedabia, Derna, Ridotta Capuzzo.

P.A.A. campaigns maps have been “expanded” over the quite small "Sands of Time" map. Most actions, when playing P.A.A. will take part on the south map border. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to enlarge the game briefing and debriefing maps and the in-cockpit navigation map. Provided reference maps are useful for navigation, but beware, it's quite easy to loose orientation and position when in flight. Of course, navigation was a challenge for WWII desert pilots as well.

Note: Ace’s IL-2 MatManager v2.36 or greater must be installed and properly configured. Plenty of Third Party Skins are available for this campaign. Installing Il2DCG Aces pack 2 is recommended. (For full instructions on these items, see the "readme" in the download.)

IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.33 Posted email to someone | printer friendly
Additions to Version 3.33

Added code to allow armor and trucks to cross rivers by ferry (Burma campaign). Added a message to the briefing screen for pilots joining the squadron. Separated the active pilot list on the briefing by flights. News Briefs must now be defined as "Allied", "Axis" or "Both". Added new "time table" commands for squadrons: "MaxPlanes", "MinPlanes", "ActivePlanes", "SetSkill", "FlightSize", and "AlwaysActive" to allow campaign designers the ability to set squadron data. Fixed "NewPlane" command. Fixed "Player Squadron" bug in on-line campaign generation. Enhanced "Paratroopers" option to include AI bomber crew chutes - if unchecked, neither paratroopers nor AI bomber crews will appear (saving frame rates in campaigns with mass bombers). Freed the "General Settings Panel" and "Aircraft Class Settings Panel" from having to have an active campaign to open. Added plane type to the career mode briefing. Added general victory conditions to the briefings. Made Ki-43s flyable and added bomb option. Prohibited transfers of less than 5 miles. Added settings for radio use in the "Default" section of the Waypoints Settings Panel and in the timetable.dcg file: Radio [On/Off] [Squadron]. Added setting of paints and markings to the timetable.dcg: SetPaint [Squadron] = [0/1][bitmap.bmp]. Added a troop level setting through the timetable.dcg file. Added ability to set "AIOnly" through campaign template. Added static supply trucks to list of objects that always spawn. Improved CAP over carriers and moving columns. Tweaked mission success parameters. Fixed alpha/numeric coordinate display for 3rd party campaigns. Added reader for PhotoShop produced bitmaps - these images will now correctly display for roster and paint schemes. Added host options for on-line campaign mode through the game's interface. Fixed troop build up bug (too many troops were being added to a location when a truck convoy/ship/train was located there). Added possible use of gliders as payloads for C-47 and HE-111 Z when a "dropzone" is specified in the campaign (not that they are very good at landing near the dropzones...).

Marianas '44 version 3.02 is a free 3rd party add-on campaign by JastaV designed to work with Il2DCG3.32 or greater. Version 3.02 concentrates on the Landing Operations leading to the Marianas Isles liberation: the large carrier engagement known as First Battle of Philippine Sea has not been replicated although its influence over the campaign has been considered.

IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.32 Released email to someone | printer friendly
Feedback on the 3.31 build revealed a couple critical bugs that needed to be addressed. The most critical one had to do with "IL-2 1946" increasing the planes to more than 300 in number. As DCG 3.31 was limited to 300 planes, a memory bug was causing the Yak data to over-write the A-20 and Zero data. As campaigns using these planes would experience problems, a new version is now available.

Additions to Version 3.32

Modified transportation of armor and vehicle columns by ships and trains. Only one unit may now be transported by a train or ship and these units can only be picked up at the home port/station and/or spawn point of the carrying unit. Units being transported are identified in the columns.dcg file with a status (~) = "T". Fixed weapon ban - it was not working for both sides. Updated Singapore campaign by adding "Nate" and "Sally". Added "Count Static Planes" control for IL2SC administered dogfight servers. DCG will now recognize BOE campaign selection. Added "NewsBrief [Language] [Text]" command to the "timetable.dcg" file so campaign designers can add date specific messages to their briefings. Increased array size for plane types; fixed missing plane bug. Fixed dogfight mode plane assignments. Fixed bug in AI squadron air starts routine which was making almost all AI squadrons start in the air if that option was selected.

IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.31 Posted email to someone | printer friendly
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Another year has ended and "1946" is upon us. This last 2006 release of IL2DCG allows users to fly all the new planes and access all the new ground objects. Also added is a short campaign for Kiev in 1941. Expect new campaigns for Burma and the other new maps in early 2007.

Additions to Version 3.31

Added new planes and ground objects for "1946" and "Manchuria" (Version 4.071m). Added Kiev '41 campaign. Fixed "no player squadron" bug. Improved bombing coordinates. Improved tracking for aces; aces killed or captured should not reappear. Added Ingress Speed boxes for both the player's "Waypoint Panel" and the "Aircraft Class Settings Panel"; added new Ingress Speed variable in the class.dcg file). Added altitude in feet for American and Commonwealth single-player campaigns. Added a time passage command for the timetable.dcg file; campaign designers can now set the time passage as required. Added "slow" time passage (two missions/day). Added a ban weapon type for IL2SC server operators. This new command is available for the timetable.dcg file (see the "TestBed" campaign for the format).

Sidi Barrani 1940 Campaign Released email to someone | printer friendly

JastaV's "Sidi Barrani, 1940" is a third party Il2DCG add-on campaign for the IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator (v.3.30+). This campaign covers the early desert campaign which began when the Italian Marshal Rodolfo Graziani led six Italian divisions across the Libyian-Egyptian border and captured Sidi Barrani and it's airfield. The battle for North Africa had begun.

Note: Ace’s IL-2MatManager v.2.36+ must be installed and properly configured for this campaign to work properly. A number of desert paint schemes are recommend. Installing Il2DCG Aces pack 2 is also recommended. See the document in the download for complete instructions.

IL-2 Dynamic Campaign Generator 3.30 Released email to someone | printer friendly

Additions to Version 3.30

Added tracking for player flying as gunners in coop missions; DCG will now track air kills and the number of missions flown by such players in the gunners.dcg file. Players who fly both as gunner and pilot will have their gunner kills tallied together with their pilot scores in the pilot.dcg file as before. Improved aces joining and transfering between squadrons. Modified squadron.dat file to include players (and exclude AI pilots) if the mode is Coop or Dogfight. Added pilot management for the player's squadron; a player can change the plane slot assignments of his squadron if the "Squadron Management" option is checked. Added more options for the timetable.dcg file including payload changes from set dates as well as an add and remove squadrons functions and a remove column function. Ground attack payloads set to "none" will prohibit any assignment of ground attack missions. Added timetable option for movie tracks. Tweaked interception code. Corrected date setting from the grand campaign file. Fixed "not an integer bug" for (unneeded) number of sorties in on-line games. Improved "Winter War" campaign. Fixed the markings being reset to "yes" every mission.

Note: This version of DCG should not be installed over versions older than 3.01. Please make a clean install. Campaigns started with versions of DCG numbered less than 3.01 will NOT work with this new version. After installing, remember to reset your basic options and, if using DGen or NGen Replacement modes, make sure these options are re-checked before running FB/AEP/FP or FP.

ghostrider, email me.

ghostrider on 03 Sep : 10:17
Is it possible to use the version on the forums which was designed for UP 2.0 on condition I wouldn't use new planes?

Lowengrin on 03 Sep : 08:03
Rumours, rumours, rumours. The latest (as yet unreleased) version of DCG has enhancements which work with MDS.

ghostrider on 03 Sep : 01:05
Hi, Paul, I've read something about new version of DCG, which would work with UP 2.01. Is there any progress?

Lowengrin on 24 Aug : 15:03
All but Med'41. However, the Russian ones follow a German/Russian path and you may find yourself fighting in 1945 for Berlin.

D-XXI on 24 Aug : 13:51
Paul,

thx, I will try that as soon as my own computer has been fixed.

As I could select the Italian career from DCG (Med'41, Tobruk'41, Typhoon '41, Rhez '42 and Kursk, I assumed that those campaigns are linked.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:16
Further to my note below, as the winner was Italy, you need to change the "Red" to "Blue" in the first line.

Lowengrin on 22 Aug : 21:15
Med'41 is actually a stand-alone campaign. It doesn't link to anything. If you want it to link to Tobruk '41, you'll need to add the following to the grandcampaign.dcg file:

[Mediterranean41 o Tobruk41] Red
Campaign=Western_Campaign
Map=SandsOfTime
StartDate=01/12/1941
Front=Tobruk_Supply_Depot
DeHome=Bengazi_Road
RuHome=El_Alamein_Road
DeBase=Gazala_Airfield
RuBase=Gambut_Airfield
Locale1=Maleme_Airfield
Locale2=Maleme
Locale3=Bengazi_Road_Depot
Locale4=Maleme_Beachhead

D-XXI on 22 Aug : 07:08
Hello Paul,

I have a problem witk the DCG Italian Career. When the first campaign (Mediterrenean) ends because the enemy has retreated, I do not progress to the next campaign (Tobruk). I only get new missions without any enemies. Do you have any ideas?

Lowengrin on 11 Aug : 17:28
You're welcome.
